You’ve Got Questions, We’ve Got Answers!
What is She Zine Mag?
She Zine Mag is a feminist digital magazine and curated print project for the loud, the tender, the political, and the creatively unhinged. We publish original stories, interviews, op-eds, and DIY content that amplifies marginalized voices and zine culture, with a strong dose of nostalgia and a future-forward lens. There’s also a shop, a podcast, a distro coming soon — welcome.
Can I buy stuff from you?
Not yet. Our online shop is launching soon and will feature exclusive She Zine merch, feminist kits, zines we love, and more. We stock both in-house and third-party goods, many made by femme, queer, and nonbinary creators. New drops happen regularly.
Do you accept submissions?
Yes! We’re always open to pitches, personal essays, cultural critiques, DIY tutorials, and beautiful messes. In fact, we depend on community contributions to create the diversity of voices and lived experiences that help She Zine thrive. Priority is given to BIPOC contributors, those within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and other marginalized voices.
We pay, and we believe in respectful, transparent editorial relationships — no ghosting, no ego trips, no endless rewrites. Head over to our Pitch Something page for pitch guidelines and a handy submission form.
Who writes for She Zine Mag?
A mix of real people and a sprinkle of fictional contributor personas. (Yep, you read that right.) Our core editorial team is human, but we’ve introduced a few AI-aided staff members to help shape tone, experiment with narrative, and hold space while we grow.
We’re fully transparent about their use — all AI-generated content is clearly attributed, and we encourage readers to learn more on our Ethos & Transparency page.
One important note: our fictional contributors are all cis, hetero, white women — which reflects the current makeup of our real contributor base. It’s not our place to fabricate lived experiences that aren’t our own. As our community grows and diversifies, most of our AI “staff” will be phased out. One may stick around as our soft-core cyborg with strong opinions, part of an ongoing experiment in tone-setting and future-facing media.
Do you pay your writers?
Yes. Our contributor rates vary depending on the piece length and format, but we aim for fair compensation — even when we’re scrappy. A full rate sheet and contributor agreement is available for download on the Pitch Something page.
Can I get a print copy?
Yes — occasionally. We will be releasing limited-edition physical zines, DIY kits, and print inserts tied to seasonal drops or special themes when we launch our zine store, The Stack. To be the first to know when we launch The Stack or when something new is coming, sign up for our mailing list or follow us on Instagram.
How does your distro work?
We will be launching our own distro, which will feature rad zines, feminist goods, and indie products and publications made by other creators. We buy wholesale and operate on a small-batch model. If you want to stock your zine with us, drop us a line!
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout. If you live somewhere obscure, remote, or oddly expensive, drop us a line and we’ll try to make it work.
What’s your return/refund policy?
Please refer to our Refunds & Returns page for the full breakdown. TL;DR: Most zines and digital goods are final sale, but if something arrives damaged, wrong, or cursed, we’ll sort it out.
Can I advertise with you?
You can! We’re currently offering discounted rates for Founding Advertisers before our full launch, as well as and several other tiers depending on the needs of you and your business. Contact us at advertise@shezinemag.com to receive our media kit, mockups, and everything you need to know to get started.
