Meet the Guts Behind the Gloss

This is the crew. The co-conspirators. The slightly unhinged dreamers, thinkers, scribblers, and scrappy idea hoarders who keep She Zine Mag weird, sharp, and moving. All of us are here because we believe in independent media, creative rebellion, and building something that isn’t afraid to say what it means — or mean what it says.

Welcome to the masthead. It’s messy. It’s magic. It’s very much us.

AXO ~Real Thing

editor / maker / content creator
She Zine's founding editor was raised on zines, late-night brainstorms, and the belief that art should be loud and useful. She builds things from scratch — brands, ideas, messes that turn into something special. Still figuring it out, but always showing up. Not perfect, just persistent.

Over the years she’s launched brands, written manifestos, organized events, and made too many T-shirts — she always shows up, brings receipts, and makes space for others to do the same.

AXO believes the future of feminist publishing isn’t about perfection, aesthetics, or algorithms — it’s about truth, access, intention, and building platforms that don’t rely on extractive systems. She’s not here to vibe. She’s here to work.

Still here. Still loud. Still building the thing she needed when she was a teen. Doing cool shit on the internet since 2005.

Support & Production
merch magic / social boosts / emotional triage unit

Lauren is one of those people who just gets it done. She’s behind the merch, behind the feed, behind the scenes — but her fingerprints are all over the place. From folding shirts to writing captions to making sure someone’s had water today, Lauren shows up where it counts.

She’s AXO’s sister and built-in support crew, contributing content, keeping the vibes in check, and occasionally talking people out of spirals. She’s the steady hand in the chaos. The “did you post that yet?” voice in your ear. The real MVP in a sea of fictional weirdos.

And yeah — she’s actually real. We checked.

John Sutton

Production & Support
sound tech / event wrangler / guy who lifts the heavy stuff

John does a bit of everything — sound editing, podcast production, gear setup, event logistics, and whatever else needs doing across all AXO&Co brands. He’s the one untangling cables while you’re yelling about fonts, or quietly fixing the tech so someone else can take the mic.

He’s not here for the spotlight, but nothing runs right without him. Think of him as the unofficial utility wizard of the crew — always nearby, always in motion, and somehow always two steps ahead of the next fire.

Real person. Real helpful. Rarely on camera. Definitely essential.

More bios coming soon…

That’s our team — part scissors-and-gluestick, part digital native, all stitched together with purpose and slightly bent staples.

If you’ve got a voice that doesn’t fit anywhere else, or ideas growing wild in the back of your brain, we want to hear from you. This is your open invitation to pitch, collaborate, contribute, or just orbit for a while.

We especially welcome contributors who are:

  • BIPOC

  • LGBTQ2IA+

  • Disabled or chronically ill

  • Neurodivergent

  • Working-class, poor, or financially marginalized

  • Fat, femme, weird, soft, angry, spiritual-but-skeptical, or something else entirely

If you’ve never been published before — even better. If you’ve got something to say and nowhere else to say it — welcome. We’ve saved you a seat.
